Polygonatum hookeri

Definitely the midget in a genus of giants- low, very shallow spreading mats no more than 7cm high; typical leaf and stem structure. Bonus, stemless pink to violet flowers of good substance. This species is best grown in light shade in a rich humusy soil that can drain freely.
