Ranunculus alpestris

Common throughout the mountains of Europe in damp grassland close to the melting snow; fibrous rooted clumps with tiny, rounded leaves that deeply lobed, coloured a rich, lustrous green; flowers are pure white ~ 2cm across, sitting on the clumps. An easy, beautiful plant for the rock garden.
