Stone - Tufa

Tufa rock is a lightweight limestone formed when lime (calcium carbonate) bearing water flows over an acid-peat bed. The lime is deposited and attaches itself to the vegetation, to create a porous rock. Alpine plants grow well in tufa, benefiting off the nutrients it contains. Available at the nursery.
